As part of our continuous development of computer-based
tools we can now visualise and estimate with great
accuracy the total walking time to assembly points
onboard a passenger ship.
We can also predict where queues will most likely form
based on the layout of the ship, all in accordance
with the current demands and regulations of, among
others, SOLAS , Resolutions and Circular. This type
of work should be carried out to these regulations
at the early planning stages of a new build in order
to allow for any necessary modifications in the evacuation
dimensioning onboard.
Using an analysis of evacuation dimensioning on existing
ships gives us answers as to whether the existing onboard evacuation organisation is optimised based on the particular conditions onboard.
